Baptism has been one of the more contentious issues in the history of the church. Repeated fights have been had over how to baptize, who to baptize, when to baptize. While our practice is to baptize the children of believers, we have chosen not to make this an issue over which we will fight. We have baptists in our church. We have paedo-baptists in our church. For a lot of folks, the practice of infant baptism is a new one. We are hosting a class before church to talk through what baptism means, why we baptize infants and what baptism looks like for those who don’t agree with infant baptism.
